Obsolete objects/historical forms/rituals are reworked to propose complex alternatives to their previous functions and ideological references. In this way, Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez´s work is intended to form new structures that change the reading as well as the order and possibilities of the past, present and future.
The confrontations and "collisions" of the content, forms and structures she has chosen, and the transformations of content that arise from them, generate tensions that create new degrees of abstraction - between body, function, dysfunction, space and object.
About
Tatiana Echeverri Fernandez was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. She is a Colombian artist and electronic sound producer who grew up in Medellin, Colombia; in Rotterdam, The Netherlands; and in the Ruhr area, Germany. She now lives and works in Berlin.
